William Kamkwamba

There's a young guy in Malawi who had to leave school at 14 because his family didn't have money to educate him, so he starting reading books on his own from the school library and at 18 taught himself to build his family a windmill to provide them with electrical power. He's now improving the engineering design and building more windmills for his community.
