sheet survey

If you're willing to admit to it (feel free to post anonymously :), how often do you feel you should change the sheets on your bed?

I was raised with "whenever", a previous roommate insisted that anything less often than "once a month" was "gross", and my husband was raised with "once a week", but has managed to stretch his level of toleration to "once every 2 to 3 weeks."

In other news, our landlady is cleaning 50 years' worth of detritus out of our house, and she found the pajamas that her husband wore for their honeymoon in 1954: pink paisley. (?! :) They were in surprisingly good shape. She gave them to us, saying that they should bring us good luck, too. :)

I would change my sheets whenever I did the laundry. In college, this averaged about every 10-14 days. Since I have been home, I change once a week.

Pre-dog: once every whenever (i.e., when they start to smell bad)
Post-dog: once every whenever (i.e., when they start to smell bad, which, with a particularly stinky dog, is much faster than a pre-dog "whenever")

It tends to be about once every two to three weeks, previously it was a month to six weeks. Guests' sheets are changed right after they leave, of course. Nobody wants to sleep on sheets that someone else did God-only-knows-what on.

being a previous roommate, i'd say once a week (that's how we've been raised)...
once a month is me stretching it...and anything more...would be adding to my list of things to be depressed about :-)

oh and i don't think you should stretch his level of toleration that much. once a week is good...especially since he's clearly willing to do it AND you have a washing machine and dryer in the house!!!

Good points! You've convinced me...
wooooohooooo!!!!

:-)
Actually, it varies with the seasons for me! About once a month in the cooler months but as often as once a week or so in the summer when it's really hot and sticky and perspiration issues arise.

And what's with our cross-posts and body functions lately? What's next, armpit hair?

::over-reacting:: WHAT? You have a PROBLEM with ARMPIT HAIR?!?
